To my fellow caretakers of medically complex children: you are not alone.

Two years ago our world was rocked with a baby boy born with ARPKD. Kai was immediately put on a ventilator at birth and had a double nephrectomy before he was a week old. As our miracle grew, his dialysis prevented him from having any desire to eat. Even at two years old, he vomits five, sometimes ten times a day, and now has a G/J feeding tube.

Ever since those early days in the NICU, we’ve wanted to find a way to give support to this community of selfless advocates and medical caretakers. Many of you have walked away from successful careers and lifestyles you worked hard to earn, in an effort to provide your children with the complex medical care they require. Through Instagram and Facebook I have sat as a wallflower with the occasional request for help and y’all have been my ROCK!

The Bapron:

The Splash Mat:

This lightweight, waterproof mat is 45" in diameter and is designed to catch spills and splashes. With a child on dialysis, we use the splash mat as a play surface to prevent our carpet from vomit throughout the day. Other less specialized uses include:

Quick Cleaning: rinse under water to remove all food/crumbs.  Gently shake off water and allow to air dry fully. Product will be ready to use again when fully dry (approx. 30 minutes, depending on humidity)

Deep Cleaning: BapronBaby items are machine washable and may be tumbled dry on low to medium heat.  Do not iron as it may damage the waterproof layer. The Bapron is not intended for use outside any safety harness or restraint, and the splash mat should not be used without supervision.
